Terms of Use
Version 1.0-beta · Effective 2026-08-26
This document is a product draft prepared for beta testing.
Version: 1.0-draft Effective Date: (set on publish)
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Curio (the "Service"), provided by AGR ("Curio," "we," or "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Beta Status
Curio is currently an early-stage/beta software product. Features may change, be incomplete, contain errors, or become temporarily unavailable.
Users should maintain appropriate independent copies of important project records and should not rely on Curio as the sole repository for critical documentation during beta.
2. Curio Is a Project Tool — Not the Professional
Curio assists users with organizing, analyzing, and communicating project information. Curio does not replace the judgment or services of licensed or qualified architects, engineers, contractors, interior designers, attorneys, accountants, inspectors, or other professionals.
AI-generated suggestions, extracted information, measurements, budgets, schedules, product information, pricing, code-related information, and project recommendations must be independently reviewed where appropriate.
3. Measurements
Homeowner-provided, AI-estimated, device-generated, or otherwise unverified measurements are preliminary unless explicitly marked professionally verified.
Measurements affecting fabrication, construction, installation, ordering, code compliance, or fit must be independently field verified by the appropriate professional.
4. AI / Automated Extraction
Curio may use artificial intelligence and automated systems to classify, extract, summarize, organize, and suggest connections between project information. AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete.
Curio preserves its human-confirmation architecture: AI interpretations do not modify canonical project information until an authorized user confirms them.
5. User Responsibility
Users are responsible for reviewing information before relying on it for purchasing, construction, fabrication, installation, contractual commitments, payments, or other material project decisions.
6. User-Uploaded Content
Users retain ownership of content they upload to Curio, subject to the rights necessary for Curio and its service providers to host, process, analyze, display, transmit, and otherwise operate the service.
Users represent that they have appropriate rights or permission to upload and share the materials they submit.
7. Project Collaboration
Project owners control invitations and authorized project access. Users may access only projects and information for which they have permission. Attempting to bypass permissions or access another user's private project information is prohibited.
8. Financial, Procurement & Contractual Information
Curio is project-management and documentation software. Curio is not accounting, tax, legal, or financial advice, and does not replace the judgment or services of attorneys, accountants, or other qualified professionals.
Curio does not determine contractual entitlement. Curio records, organizes, calculates, and presents information supplied by users, project agreements, vendor policies, purchase orders, and other project records. Curio does not determine whether any fee, refund, credit, restocking charge, cancellation charge, or other amount is legally owed. Applicable studio-client agreements, vendor/manufacturer terms, purchase orders, and other governing agreements control.
Studio policy defaults are not automatically contractual. A default Studio setting in Curio (such as a default procurement fee percentage or return-handling method) is an operational starting point only. It does not automatically form part of the client's contract. Users are responsible for configuring Studio policies to match their actual agreements. Where a project agreement does not confirm a fee, Curio surfaces "Needs confirmation" rather than implying the client owes it.
Vendor policies and third-party terms control vendor obligations. Vendor/manufacturer return, restocking, cancellation, freight, and final-sale terms recorded in Curio are informational. They may be extracted, detected, or manually entered, and may be unverified. The vendor's or manufacturer's actual terms control.
AI extraction and calculations may require verification. Information Curio extracts or calculates — including vendor policies, restocking fees, cancellation estimates, refunds, credits, and reconciliations — may be inaccurate or incomplete. Detected vendor terms and calculated amounts are estimates until confirmed against the applicable agreement and the actual refund or credit received. Users must verify before relying on them.
Curio records do not create or modify contracts. Information, calculations, estimates, or records in Curio do not independently create, amend, or modify any contract between the Studio, its client, vendors, manufacturers, contractors, or other parties. The parties' separate written agreements control their respective rights and obligations.
9. No Guarantee of Project Outcomes
Curio does not guarantee project cost, availability, delivery dates, construction schedules, contractor/vendor performance, product performance, professional performance, design outcomes, or project completion. Estimates and projections are informational and subject to change.
10. Third-Party Services
Curio may integrate with or link to third-party services such as payment processors, calendars, AI providers, product/vendor websites, and other platforms. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices.
11. Availability / Data
During beta, Curio does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or permanent retention of user data. Users should maintain independent copies of critical project records.
12. Limitation of Liability
ATTORNEY REVIEW REQUIRED. An appropriate limitation of liability, exclusion of consequential/indirect damages, liability cap, and applicable exceptions must be inserted here by qualified legal counsel. No liability cap or exclusion has been adopted until this section is completed.
13. Indemnification
ATTORNEY REVIEW REQUIRED. Provisions addressing misuse of Curio, unlawful uploads, infringement of third-party rights, and violation of these Terms must be inserted here by qualified legal counsel.
14. Governing Law / Disputes
ATTORNEY REVIEW REQUIRED — Governing Law / Dispute Resolution. Governing law, venue, arbitration, class-action waiver, and dispute resolution provisions have not been adopted and must be inserted here by qualified legal counsel. Do not infer any specific governing law or dispute mechanism until this section is completed.
15. Intellectual Property
Curio / AGR retains ownership of: Curio branding, product design, proprietary workflows, original software/code owned by Curio/AGR, documentation, original templates, and Curio-created proprietary systems/content — subject to any rights retained by underlying platform/service providers.
Users retain ownership of their uploaded content, subject to a limited license necessary for Curio to operate the service. Curio does not claim ownership of architects' drawings, designers' designs, client photographs, vendor documents, contractor proposals, or other user-uploaded intellectual property.
16. Feedback
ATTORNEY REVIEW REQUIRED. A provision addressing suggestions, ideas, and feature requests submitted through Curio's feedback system should be inserted here so Curio can consider and implement product suggestions without creating an ownership dispute.
17. Changes to These Terms
If material terms change, Curio will publish a new version. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, or users may be required to affirmatively accept the updated version. The acceptance architecture records the version each user accepted.
18. Contact
Questions about these Terms may be directed to the Studio administrator or Curio support.
These Terms are a draft pending attorney review and are not attorney-approved.
